Grimsby Town boss Michael Jolley expects Stevenage to pose a physical threat when the Mariners travel to Broadhall Way in Sky Bet League Two this Saturday (3pm).

Town will be hoping to end their run of four straight league defeats this weekend when they face Dino Maamria’s 13th-placed side, and Jolley says it will be a tough test for his side.

Speaking on iFollow Mariners, he said: “It will be a difficult match. Stevenage are an experienced, physical, and powerful League Two team, with a good manager who knows his way around this level.

“So, like every match, it’s a match we need to stand up to. We need to be prepared to try and match them physically and mentally, and try and impose ourselves on the game.

“He’s stabilised the situation there, and I’ve known Dino quite a few years – he’s a good person, and somebody who I respect, and he’s done a good job there.”

Jordan Cook is sidelined with a strain, Harry Cardwell and Paul Dixon may retain to training next week, and Andrew Fox remains out for up to two weeks.

Captain John Welsh has trained lightly, Reece Hall-Johnson played in the reserves this weekend, and Ben Pringle is building up his fitness following his loan move from Preston North End.
