Grimsby Town striker Wes Thomas is eyeing more Sky Bet League Two goals between now and the end of the season.
The 32-year-old has scored 12 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for Town so far this season.
And he’s hoping to add to that tally and help Town finish as high as possible come the end of the season.
Speaking on iFollow Mariners, he said: “We want to finish on a high a note as possible.
“Even though there may not be a chance of getting in the play-offs, you still need to put yourself in a position where you’re in the manager’s plans.
“Or you want to finish the season on a high where you can negotiate the best contract as possible, so on that side of things, you need to finish on a high.
“As a striker you want to score as many goals as possible so this season has been okay for me. I’m on 12 right now, and hopefully I can get a few more.
“I’ve got a target that I’ll keep to myself. Scoring as many goals as possible puts me in a better position come the summertime.
“So scoring as many as I can from now until the end of the season is important.
“My focus is just on finishing the season on a high, and then we’ll see where I am come that time.”
And Thomas will be looking to add to his tally in this Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Bury at Blundell Park (3pm).
