Géza Dávid Turi has been named in the Faroe Islands national football team squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League group fixtures.

The Mariners midfielder will join up with the Faroe Islands squad during the upcoming international window as they face a busy run of four fixtures in UEFA Nations League C Group 3.

The Faroes will begin the window with the visit of Kazakhstan on Saturday 26th September, before travelling to face Moldova on Tuesday 29th September. They will then host Slovakia on Friday 2nd October, before travelling to Kazakhstan on Tuesday 6th October.

Géza has quickly established himself within the national team setup since becoming eligible to represent the country. Prior to that, he was previously called up to the Faroe Islands national under-21 football team in 2021.

After first being selected for the senior squad earlier in 2025 for FIFA World Cup qualification fixtures, Turi made his international debut later that year against Croatia in September.

He went on to score his first senior international goal for the Faroes in November during another meeting with Croatia, marking an important milestone in his international career.

The upcoming Nations League fixtures provide another opportunity for Turi to add to his international appearances and continue gaining experience at senior international level.

As a result of his international commitments, Géza will miss Town’s EFL Trophy fixture away at Notts County on Tuesday 22nd September, as well as the Sky Bet League Two fixtures against Newport County and Shrewsbury Town.

Everyone at the Club would like to congratulate Géza on his call-up and wish him the very best while representing the Faroe Islands.
