Grimsby Town Launch Warm Clothing Initiative

Grimsby Town Football Club will be running a ‘Warm Clothing’ initiative again this winter.

Working in collaboration with the Grimsby Town Foundation and Mariners Trust, we are asking fans to donate their unwanted winter clothing so they can go to people in our community who need them the most.

Speaking of the initiative, Pete Macleod, Acting Head of the Grimsby Town Foundation said, “We know that many people in our community are going to face another challenging winter due to the on-going cost-of-living crisis, and as a Club, we are keen to help as many as we can.

“Along with the Mariners Trust, we ran this initiative last season and we received hundreds of items which were distributed to local people through the links we have to many local charities.

“We are repeating the project this year and our hope is that we can help even more people this time around.”

Donations of any clothing which will help to keep people warm this winter are welcome. However, coats, woolly hats, scarves and gloves in any size will once again be top of the wish list. All that we ask is that everything donated is in decent condition.

If you have some pre-loved winter clothing you’d like to donate to the initiative, we are encouraging supporters to bring them to our games against Morecambe on Saturday and Sutton United at the end of this month and drop them off at the ‘Donation Station’ in the Mariners Trust Bar between 12pm and 2:30pm.

Alternatively, if you can’t make it to either fixture, you can drop off your donated items at the Blundell Park Ticket Office during the week, from 10am to 4pm.

If you represent an organisation who’d benefit from our ‘Winter Clothing’ initiatives, please email [email protected].

Thanks to everyone who donated last year and anyone who can help again this year. We are greater together.
