We are delighted to announce that a ‘shoal’ of Harry Haddocks have arrived at Blundell Park just in time for our Emirates FA Cup third round tie against Burton Albion (kick off, 5:30pm tomorrow).
Almost 34 years after taking over the terraces of Plough Lane against ‘the Crazy Gang’ in the same competition, one of Grimsby’s most famous exports has returned and is available for supporters to purchase once again.
Speaking of the return of the popular inflatable, CEO Debbie Cook said: “I’m delighted we have been able to bring back the legendary Harry Haddock because I know it’s part of the Club’s identity, synonymous with Grimsby Town Football Club and is deeply embedded in FA Cup folklore.
“Thank you to our Club Shop Manager Rae Walker for all of her hard work in helping us bring him back to life.
“Most importantly though, I hope fans enjoy him, and I can’t wait to see him back in the home end adding to the atmosphere, and on our travels around the country.”
This 2023 version of ‘Harry’ is a little different to the original (which was technically a rainbow trout!). It’s around a metre long and includes the club’s new crest and the messaging ‘Grimsby Town F.C.’ on both sides.
Harry Haddock costs £10 and is now available from the Club Shop and Mariners Direct.
We can’t wait to see them out in force tomorrow for the Burton game and at future games.
MAAAAARRRIIIIIINERS!
