His Majesty The King Visits Blundell Park as Part of Landmark Grimsby Visit

Grimsby Town Football Club was honoured to welcome His Majesty The King to Blundell Park yesterday as part of a visit to Grimsby that celebrated the people, organisations and partnerships helping to shape the town’s future.

The visit shone a light on the positive work taking place across Grimsby and highlighted the collaboration, ambition and community spirit that continues to drive meaningful change.

As part of the day, Blundell Park hosted a gathering led by Our Future, bringing together representatives from across the town to discuss opportunities for Grimsby and celebrate the progress being made through collective action.

The event formed part of a wider programme that saw His Majesty meet local leaders, community organisations and residents who are making a difference across the town. Earlier in the day, The King visited Horizon Youth Zone and CARE, seeing first-hand the impact of organisations that are supporting young people, families and communities across Grimsby.

Grimsby Town Football Club has proudly supported the Our Future movement for several years and was delighted to play its part in welcoming His Majesty to the town. Alongside Grimsby Town Foundation, the Club remains committed to supporting initiatives that help create positive opportunities and lasting change for local people.

During his time at Blundell Park, His Majesty met a number of representatives from Grimsby Town Football Club, including Head Coach David Artell, Chairman Andrew Pettit, Co-Chairman Jason Stockwood and Chief Executive Officer Polly Bancroft, alongside members of staff from across the Club and Grimsby Town Foundation.

As part of the visit, His Majesty was also presented with a commemorative Grimsby Town shirt by club mascot Mighty Mariner, creating a memorable moment during a historic day for the Football Club and the town.

The gathering at Blundell Park brought together individuals from across a range of sectors who have contributed to the growth of the Our Future movement and the collaborative approach that has developed across Grimsby in recent years.

Chief Executive Officer, Polly Bancroft, said: “It was a tremendous honour to welcome His Majesty The King to Blundell Park and to play a role in showcasing the incredible work taking place across our town.

“Grimsby Town Football Club is proud to be at the heart of our community and yesterday was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the people, organisations and partnerships that are helping to create positive change across Grimsby.

“The passion, ambition and commitment shown by so many people across our town was clear for all to see, and we were delighted that Blundell Park could provide the setting for such an important occasion.”

The Club would like to thank everyone involved in making the visit such a success, including Our Future, CARE, Horizon Youth Zone and the many organisations, volunteers and residents whose dedication continues to make a positive impact across Grimsby.

His Majesty’s visit was a proud moment for our town and a fitting recognition of the people working every day to help build a brighter future for Grimsby.
