iFollow | Heโ€™s Back!

Elliott Whitehouse talks to iFollow Mariners about his return after 12 months out injured.

โ€œIt feels good, not just physically but mentally as well,โ€ he said.

โ€œEveryone knows that itโ€™s been a long journey. But for me to get that first 45 minutes, after a tough training camp, is a massive plus.

โ€œAfter the game, I feel good. Itโ€™s about keeping on top of it and getting through these games and training sessions.โ€

And Michael Jolley gave his reaction to his sideโ€™s 8-0 victory in Saturdayโ€™s friendly at Clee Town.

Jolley said:โ€œIn a game like this, itโ€™s really about getting minutes into the guys and doing so without picking up any injuries. It looks as though we have done that, so itโ€™s mission accomplished in that respect.

โ€œOf course, you would always rather win these games than lose them, but you donโ€™t read too much into that. Itโ€™s very, very early days but itโ€™s good to get minutes in โ€“ it was a good day all round.

โ€œWe mixed the teams up. The second half team was slightly younger and the first half was a bit more experienced. I think there was still a good mixture in both.โ€
