Inside The Mariner – Bury

The Mariner matchday programme returns for the visit of second-placed Bury to Blundell Park tomorrow afternoon (kick-off 3pm).

A 64-page edition of the historic publication will be on sale for £3 from the club shop and around the ground. Here’s what you’ll find inside tomorrow’s programme:

  • Sebastian Ring talks wing backs, leaving home for the first time and life in Grimsby in the feature interview.

  • Mariners boss Michael Jolley writes about Bury, the Northampton match and planning for next season in his exclusive notes.

  • Pat Bell tells the story of Jock Archibald, the former Town goalkeeper who played without a thumb!

  • We get to know Swedish defender Ludvig Öhman a little better in ‘In Focus’.

  • Next to be inducted into The Mariners’ Hall of Fame is the former Wintringham School boy who became the first outfield player to make 1,000 senior appearances in the game.

  • There’s an in-depth look at our opponents, their manager Ryan Lowe, squad biographies and Kirky’s ‘Complete History’ between the two clubs.

  • Find out how our Youth Team are getting on in the EFL North East Youth Alliance this season.

  • Both Grimsby Town Sports & Education Trust and The Mariners Trust provide updates on their excellent community work.

  • And there’s photos, stats, classic Jim Connor cartoons, On This Day facts and an illustrated centrefold of Nathan Arnold and the moment The Mariners sealed promotion back to the Football League three years ago.

All of this great content, and more besides, in tomorrow’s matchday programme. Make sure you pick up your copy for £3 around the ground!
