We are excited to announce our plans to celebrate Grimsby Town Football Club’s 145th anniversary later this month.
We will be dedicating the Crawley Town matchday on Saturday 23rd September to ‘GTFC145’ which includes a host of initiatives, offers and the return of a few familiar faces to Blundell Park!
To mark the occasion, we would like all supporters attending the game to dig out and wear their favourite retro shirts. It’s always great to see the stands awash with shirts from the Club’s history, and our anniversary is the perfect opportunity for that to happen again. Also, if you come in a retro shirt, you stand a chance of winning one of our spot prizes.
We also have several legends coming back for the occasion; players who contributed to some of the most memorable moments in the Club’s recent history. They will all be in McMenemy’s pre-match and supporters with an executive ticket or hospitality package for the game will be able to meet their heroes and maybe even grab a photo with them.
There will be a special commemorative version of The Mariner produced, full of stats and stories about the Club’s heritage and pull-out poster, available on the day. It will definitely be one for the collectors!
Supporters will also be able to benefit from a one-off 14.5% discount in the Club Shop on matchday – ideal if you haven’t already purchased one of our new shirts, or our training and travel range yet. Please note that this offer is in-store only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
Ahead of the game we will also be giving away 145 complimentary tickets to families who deserve them the most. This initiative will once again be subsidised by the Community Partnership Fund. To nominate someone, or a family, who you feel deserves one or more of these tickets, all you have to do is complete this short form with a brief explanation why. The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday 15th September.
Although it’s two weeks away, we are already looking forward to welcoming what we hope will be another bumper crowd to Blundell Park to celebrate the history, and exciting future, of the Club we all love.
GTFC145 is a collaboration between the Club and the #RememberWhenGTFC heritage project.
