Next up for David Artell’s men is a trip to Gloucestershire to face Cheltenham Town who currently sit 11th in the Sky Bet League Two table, six points behind of the Mariners.
The Robins were relegated from League One at the end of last season after finishing 21st. They returned to the third tier of the English football pyramid for the 2020-21 season after earning promotion from League Two where they had spent the previous five years.
Over the 32 games they have played this season, the Gloucestershire outfit have picked up 45 points, winning 12, drawing nine and losing 11. The home side will be looking to extend their home form to five wins on the bounce, as well as making it three wins from their last four league games.
The Robins are managed by 44-year-old Michael Flynn, who took charge of the League Two side before the start of the 2024-25 campaign. Flynn started his managerial career, spending 4 years at Newport County, steering them away from relegation when he took interim charge in the last couple of months of the 2016-17 season. Flynn most recently managed Swindon Town in League Two.
A key player for the Robins will be centre-back Sam Stubbs. The 26-year-old, who joined the club in the summer on loan from fellow League Two side Bradford City and has been at the heart of the defence during the 2024-25 campaign, starting 28 of the Robins’ league games and playing a part in their eleven clean sheets. Stubbs is incredible strong in the air, winning most of his aerial duels and is composed in a tackle. He also registers 3.46 accurate long balls per 90, meaning he can create chances for his teammates from the back.
