David Artell previews our trip to Bromley
Preview
Next up for David Artell’s men is a trip to Hayes Lane Stadium to face Bromley, who currently sit 13th in the Sky Bet League Two table, four points behind the Mariners.
This is the Ravens’ first season in the Football League after gaining promotion via the play-offs, beating Solihull Moors on penalties and entering League Two for the first time in their 133-year history.
Over the 27 games they have played this season, the South London outfit have picked up 35 points, winning and losing eight games and drawing 11. The home side will be seeking their first win in six and their first at home since Boxing Day.
Bromley are managed by 53-year-old Andy Woodman, who took charge of the London Club in March 2021, guiding them to a play-off position in his first season and winning the FA Trophy in 2022. Woodman previously managed Whitehawk in the National League South.
A key player for the Ravens will be top goal scorer Michael Cheek. The 33-year-old, who joined the club in 2019, has 13 goals and two assists to his name and has been Bromley’s main attacking threat this campaign. Cheek has adapted well to his first season in the football league and sits near the top of the goalscoring charts, his natural goalscoring instinct allowing him to adapt well to the league.
