Match Reaction: A Good Away Win, But More Injury Woe For Jolley

Town boss Michael Jolley gives us his assessment of our 1-0 Boxing Day victory at Vale Park.

Speaking to the press after the game, he said: “It was a hard-fought game, both teams had chances. We scored a fantastic goal which I think is worthy of winning any game. And the lads really put their bodies on the line and made some unbelievable blocks, to preserve our clean sheet.

“We weren’t fluent and brilliant with the ball but we really dug in, and I think that away from home it was a good performance.”

Harry Davis could be out for two weeks.

The Town boss confirmed that the defender was knocked unconscious and will have to follow the concussion protocol – meaning he could be out for at least two weeks.

The boss added: “He got knocked out. He stooped and won a really good header in the box, got kicked in the face, he was out cold.

“Just speaking to Dave (Moore) there, if he was concussed – I think he probably was, then we will now have to follow the ‘concussion protocol’ – which means he could be out for at least a couple of weeks. It’s very, very frustrating given the fact that we’ve got no Danny Collins, no Akin, Luke Hendrie as well. We are really down on our numbers in terms of our defensive players.”
