Grimsby Town manager Michael Jolley has praised his squad depth ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Mansfield Town at Blundell Park (3pm).
The Mariners host John Dempster’s side – who are currently 19th – with the aim of making it three league wins on the bounce on Saturday.
And Town boss Jolley has praised the options in his squad, after Town beat league leaders Exeter City 3-1 at St James Park last weekend.
Speaking on iFollow Mariners, he said: “It’s always hard to select the team because we’ve got 22 players who are all closely-matched, in terms of their qualities and the strengths that they have.
“So it’s difficult for us to select the team for any game, and there are always disappointed people who aren’t in the team.
“But we try to make sure that everybody’s got a route back into the team.
“And if they can push those who are starting the games then that will help everybody.
“We’ve always selected a team that we think gives us the best chance of winning every game so there’s no new approach with that.
“We think we’ve got a good balance to the squad and good options within it.
“And different players give us different slants on how we’re going to play, so it’s definitely a case that everybody can contribute from within the squad.”
And Jolley hopes his side can continue improving, as they currently occupy the final play-off place after a good start in the opening 11 league games.
He said: “We’re just concentrating on the games that we’ve got coming up, and this is a really important part of the season.
“The start is out of the way now so we need to keep pushing forward and try to pick up as many points as we can, and that’s all we’re thinking about.
“It’s really all about focusing on the next games that are coming up, starting with Mansfield on Saturday – we know what a difficult game that’s going to be.
“The fact that we won and played quite well last week means nothing when the whistle blows on Saturday – we’re not owed anything because we won a game last week.
“We know that there’s a big challenge ahead of us, in terms of Mansfield, on Saturday and that’s all we’re really thinking about.”
Ludvig Öhman has returned to light training as he continues to recover from his groin injury.
