There are football clubs, and then there is Grimsby Town Football Club. A place where generations gather. Where lifelong friendships are formed. Where parents pass their love of black and white stripes down to their children. Where memories are made on cold Tuesday nights, dramatic cup ties and unforgettable afternoons at Blundell Park.
With the Early Bird Season Ticket deadline now less than 24 hours away, ending tomorrow at 4pm, thousands of Mariners supporters have already secured their place for the next chapter.
At the time of writing, 4,581 season tickets have already been sold. But behind every one of those season tickets is a story.
For 24-year-old Meg Garbutt, Grimsby Town simply means “home.” Her favourite memory? That unforgettable play-off semi-final at Wrexham in 2022.
“Words will never be able to describe what it was like being there at the Racecourse that day,” she said. “My dad is the reason I became so invested in football and to share those memories with him and my family means everything.”

That connection between football and family runs throughout the club. For Luke Aeddon, supporting Town has become something shared with his son.
“For 90 minutes it’s me and my boy watching the team we’ve grown to love together. It’s our happy place no matter what happens.”
Others describe Blundell Park as far more than just a football ground.
“Blundell Park is my Church, Grimsby Town are my religion,” explained lifelong supporter Mathew House. “Those few hours on a Saturday are my escape from the stresses of everyday life.”
For many supporters, the club is tied to the people no longer beside them, but still present in every matchday memory. Ben Bell remembers his father taking him to his first ever game.
“Supporting Grimsby Town keeps that connection alive,” he said. “Every game I watch brings me back to that first day with him.”
Alex Long shares a similar story.
“My grandad’s ashes are at the Pontoon End, so Blundell Park will always be special. I get the chance to watch the team I love and say hello to him.”
That emotional connection is what makes football clubs like Grimsby Town unique.
Whether it’s Wembley in 1998, Nathan Arnold at Forest Green, Southampton away, Wrexham, Manchester United under the lights, or simply sharing a chip butty before kick-off with family and friends – supporters carry those moments forever.

For 16-year-old Max Grice, it’s “the little things” that matter most.
“Clapping the players after a win or the fist pumps after an away victory – you feel that connection to the players.”
That togetherness has defined this season. Supporters repeatedly spoke of pride, hope and belief. Of reconnecting with the club. Of feeling part of something bigger.
For Oliver Johnson, Town became an escape during a difficult period in his life.
“The club’s recent form and success has uplifted me and distracted me, giving me joy again,” he said. “Watching Town really makes you feel something unexplainable.”
And maybe that’s the beauty of football. It’s not always about results. It’s about belonging. About the same faces in the same seats every week. The walk to the ground. The pre-match pint. The roar when the players emerge from the tunnel. Hugging complete strangers after a goal. The feeling that, for a couple of hours, nothing else matters.

As Hannah Dawson puts it: “Blundell Park is home to so many of us. We come from all different walks of life, but that gets left at the turnstile and we all come together to back the boys.”
Last season delivered memories that supporters will never forget. But the story is still being written. And with excitement building around the future of the football club both on and off the pitch, now is the time to secure your place for what comes next.
The Early Bird Season Ticket window closes tomorrow at 4pm. Don’t miss your chance to be part of it. Because this football club is more than just ninety minutes.
It’s family. It’s community. It’s identity.
It’s home.
