Following confirmation of his departure from Grimsby Town, Evan Khouri has penned a heartfelt message to supporters as he brings an end to a seven-year association with the Football Club.
Having arrived as a young player and progressed through the Academy ranks into the first team, Khouri leaves Blundell Park having made more than 100 appearances in black and white, playing a key role in some of the most memorable moments in the club’s recent history.
In a letter addressed to the fans, Evan reflected on his time at the club and thanked everyone connected with Grimsby Town for their support throughout his career.
“After seven years, the time has come to say goodbye.
“I want to thank everyone connected with the club.
“Thank you for welcoming me and my family from the very beginning and making Grimsby Town FC feel like home.
“There have been some beautiful moments and some difficult ones too. From the pride of making my professional debut and signing my first pro deal, the lows of relegation and highs of promotion, the magical and memorable cup runs, the honour and privilege of wearing the shirt for over 100 games and leading the team out in front of our amazing fans as captain and for every single one of them appearances I am sincerely grateful.
“This chapter of my life has helped me grow not only as a footballer but also as a person. The experiences, lessons, friendships and memories created here will stay with me forever.
“Once a Mariner… Always a Mariner!”
Evan’s commitment, professionalism and connection with supporters made him a popular figure both on and off the pitch throughout his time at Blundell Park.
Everyone at Grimsby Town would like to thank Evan for his outstanding contribution to the Football Club and wish him and his family every success for the future.
