Referee Watch | MK Dons

Paul Marsden will be the man in the middle for the Town’s home Sky Bet League Two clash with MK Dons at the weekend.

This will be the Lancashire-based official’s second Town game this season after he took charge of the Cheltenham fixture back in December.

This is Mr. Marsden’s first season in the EFL and his first game of the campaign saw him officiate in Mansfield Town’s opening day 3-0 victory over Newport County in which Neal Bishop became his first EFL yellow card.

He made the step-up to the EFL after just one season on the National League, and was the fourth official at the National League play-off final at Wembley at the end of last season when Tranmere defeated Boreham Wood 2-1. He then became one of just six to make the leap into the professional game after a hugely impressive season in the middle.

In 2017-18, he took charge of 21 games in the National League, issuing 74 yellow cards and eight reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 22 games and shown 59 Yellow Cards and 4 Red Cards.

He will be assisted by Declan Ford and David Benton. The Fourth Official will be Andy Haines.
