Referee Watch | Stevenage

Peterborough-based official Neil Hair will take charge of only his third Town game at Stevenage on Saturday.

On his Mariners’ debut against Newport County last season, he dismissed Wes Thomas – a decision which was later upheld at appeal but Thomas’ punishment was said to be excessive.

In his second Town game, against Swindon last season, Ludvig Öhman was dismissed by Mr Hair after receiving two yellow cards.

It took 22 years, roughly 1,300 matches and a lot of patience, but Hair finally achieved his dream of becoming a Football League referee in the summer of 2018.

In seven games so far this season he has produced 19 Yellow Cards and 1 Red Card.

Mr Hair will be assisted by Steven Plane and Oliver Jackson, the Fourth Official will be Stephen Brown.
