Reserves Fightback For Win

Our reserves side fought back from two goals down to snatch a win at Doncaster Rovers this afternoon.

A brace from substitute Lennon Stead and a goal Ludvig Öhman earned Neil Woods’ side the three points.

Town had found themselves one down on the half-hour when Starbuck was adjudged to have tripped a Rovers player in the box, and just after the second-half restart, the hosts doubled their lead after a scramble in the Town box.

But Town got themselves back in the game on 76 minutes, as Lennon Stead fired home from outside the area to give the visitors hope.

And Town were level two minutes later when Ludvig Ohman found space from a corner and side-footed past the Rovers keeper from close range.

The comeback was complete for the Mariners in the 86th minute when Stead tapped in after Bottomley had initially denied Harry Cardwell.

Town: Battersby, Pollock, Öhman, Ring, Curran, Painter, Derrick, Buckley, Ogbu, Cardwell.

Subs: Boyes, Idehen, Hope, McPherson, Stead.
