Richard Smith in McMenemy’s on Saturday

We are looking forward to welcoming former defender Richard Smith back to Blundell Park this Saturday for our game against Wrexham.

‘Big Smudge’ made over 80 appearances for the Mariners between 1995 and 2001, scoring once in his final season for the club. He originally joined Town on loan in 1995 from fellow First Division side Leicester City and signed permanently in the summer of ’96 for £50,000. The powerful centre back was unfortunate to miss the whole 1997-98 season through injury but later became a regular in Alan Buckley’s defence back in Division One.

Smith will be in McMenemy’s ahead of Saturday’s game to discuss some of his favourite memories in a Town shirt with our matchday host Scott Woodthorpe.

Hospitality packages for Saturday’s game against Wrexham have sold out but there is limited availability for other home games this season including our Easter Monday fixture against Bradford City where our matchday guest will be Paul Bolland.

If you would like to purchase one of these packages then you can by clicking here. Alternatively, you could email [email protected] or call 01472 605050 if you’d like to discuss your options or customise your package.
