Terry Donovan in McMenemy’s on Saturday

Terry Donovan will be our special guest in McMenemy’s for the Forest Green Rovers game on Saturday.

Son of fellow Mariner Don Donovan, Terry made 75 appearances for Town between 1976 and 1979 scoring 28 goals overall. The prolific forward played a crucial part in the club’s promotion from the Fourth Division in 1979 which earned him a move to First Division side Aston Villa.

Donovan went on to feature in Villa’s triumphant European Cup winning season where he played in the early stages of the tournament and scoring twice in the process. He also had brief spells with Oxford United, Portland Timbers and Burnley before hanging up his boots in 1985 whilst at South Yorkshire side Rotherham United.

The former Irish international will be in McMenemy’s before Saturday’s game alongside our matchday host, Look North Presenter, Phil Norton, where he will be taking part in a Q&A as well as discussing some of his favourite memories playing in black and white. Hospitality guests will have the chance to meet and greet Donovan as well.

We have a number of packages available for this weekend’s game and they can be booked by clicking here. Alternatively, you could email [email protected] or call 01472 605050 if you’d like to discuss your options or customise your package.
