The Official GTFC Pie Special of the Month Launches Tomorrow

We are delighted to announce that Project Pie will be launching the first ‘Official GTFC Pie Special of the Month’ at tomorrow’s game.

Project Pie specialise in making deep-filled, homemade pies and are based on Freeman Street Market. Although they are a new venture, their popular pies have got the whole town talking and they will be one of our food vendors on a matchday this season.

For our first home game tomorrow, Project Pie have collaborated with local brewery Docks Beers to produce their first pie of the month. It’s a zingy, summer-inspired chicken, lemon and thyme pie which incorporates one of Docks Beers’ popular craft beers.

“We wanted to collaborate with Docks Beers on the first pie because they are the town’s independent brewery. Also, from my experience, everyone in Grimsby loves a roast chicken dinner. That’s essentially what the pie is, along with the added citrussy hit from the beer,” said Rob, one of the co-founders of Project Pie.

“We will also have our other pies available as well, Beef & Beer, Chicken & Maple Bacon, Bourbon Oak Smoked Pulled Pork and Lincs Sausage and Chutney.”

As part of this initiative, Project Pie will make a different pie every month and they want Mariners fans to tell them what flavours and ingredients to include next.

“We have loads of ideas we are keen to try out, but we’d like to get an idea from the fans of what they’d like to see as well. That’s why we are running a poll on social media,” Rob added.

Supporters can now vote on the type of pies they would like to see Project Pie make for future pie specials of the month on the Club’s Twitter page.

Please note that Project Pie will be in the vending unit in Harrington Corner and will only be accessible to supporters sitting in the Main Stand. Other food vendors at the game tomorrow include ‘The Dogs’ in the Pontoon, ‘Gutbusters’ in the Upper and ‘Social Box’ in the Lower and the Fan Zone.
