Grimsby Town will be aiming to make it three wins on the spin in all competitions as they travel to Keepmoat Stadium to face Doncaster Rovers in Checkatrade Trophy Northern Group G on Tuesday (7.30pm).
Michael Jolley’s side picked up two straight Sky Bet League Two victories last week as they beat Carlisle United 1-0 and Port Vale 2-0.
And the Mariners will be hoping to carry that momentum on, and continue their unbeaten start to the Checkatrade Trophy 2018-19 campaign when they face Grant McCann’s side on Tuesday.
But Rovers – who are sixth in Sky Bet League One – will be hoping to return to winning ways after two successive league defeats.
And McCann’s men also lost 3-1 to Newcastle United U21s in their first Checkatrade Trophy fixture – leaving them in bottom-place ahead of Tuesday’s clash.

Current form
Rovers have had a great start to their Sky Bet League One 2018-19 campaign – with six wins, three draws, and three defeats ensuring they sit sixth-place after 12 games.
McCann’s side only lost one of their first 10 league games – as they fell to a 1-0 away defeat to Burton Albion – and picked up important wins over Southend United, Luton Town, and Walsall.
But after a 1-0 loss to Accrington Stanley and a 4-0 defeat to Fleetwood Town in their previous two games, Doncaster will be looking to bounce back against the Mariners on Tuesday.
One to watch: John Marquis
The striker has scored nine goals in 14 games in all competitions so far this season, including braces in the league wins over Bradford City and Plymouth Argyle.
The prolific 26-year-old has scored 50 goals in 113 games in all competitions for Doncaster since his move from Millwall in 2016.
Marquis finished as Rovers’ top goalscorer last season – scoring 15 goals in all competitions as they finished 15th in League One – and he’ll be hoping to do the same this term.
And the striker also on target in Rovers’ 3-1 Checkatrade Trophy defeat to Newcastle United U21s in September.
Tickets are still available for Tuesday’s Checkatrade Trophy clash with Doncaster Rovers, and the game is also available to watch live exclusively on iFollow Mariners.
