Town’s Youngsters Suffer Another Defeat

Grimsby Town U18s 0-2 Rotherham United U18s

There was another defeat for our U18s side at the weekend, this time at the hands of Rotherham United.

Rotherham took the lead inside the first two minutes from close range following an error by the Town keeper.

But it was Town who created the best chances with Tomlinson, Adlard and Smaller forcing the visitor’s keeper to pull off a string of fine saves.

Despite the home side’s pressure, The Millers added a second before the break – a fine volley from the edge of the box.

The second half was again competitive, with Tomlinson seeing his great header well saved by the opposition keeper, but Town keeper Boyes also had to make some sharp saves to try to keep Town in it.

The games are coming thick and fast for Neil Woods’ side and they face Notts County at Cheapside on Tuesday.
