Grimsby Town Football Club can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Watford F.C. for the permanent transfer of Mattie Pollock for an initial fee of £250,000.

The 19-year-old penned his first professional contract in February 2019, committing to a two-and-a-half-year contract, with an option for a further year which was triggered at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

Pollock joined the GTFC Academy system in the summer of 2018 as a first-year scholar and was quickly awarded professional terms following his rapid progression and eye-catching performances. This included a memorable Football League debut away at Exeter City in December 2018 as a 51st-minute substitute where the Mariners secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory with ten men.

During his period at the club, Pollock made a total of 58 appearances in all competitions for the club scoring four goals in the process, all of which came in the 2020/21 campaign.
