Our women’s team are in action tomorrow night, as they take on HBW United Ladies in the Marsh Sports County Women’s Plate final.
The Mariners’ road to the final began with a resounding 11-2 victory over Louth FC, with striker Beth Wharton finding the back of the net four times and Alisha DeJonge scoring a hat-trick.
The girls in black and white then went on to overcome a strong Sleaford side in extra-time in the quarter-final; Alisha DeJonge again getting her name on the scoresheet twice.
Hayley Cox’s side eased their way past local side Cleethorpes Town with a comfortable 3-0 victory to book a place in the final of the competition; their first ever appearance in the final of this competition.
HBW United play in the Quickline Women’s County Football League and are part of a community football club for Heighington, Branston and Washingborough.
Kick-off is at 7:45pm tomorrow night at the Vertigo Stadium in Skegness and the prices are Adults £6 and Concession (65+/U18) £3.
