We are delighted to announce that Jordan Wright has signed for the Mariners from Lincoln City on a two-year deal.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper moves to Blundell Park for an undisclosed fee from the League One club.
Wright came through the ranks at Nottingham Forest and during his six-year spell at the City Ground he gained experience on loan with Alfreton Town, Kettering Town, Grantham Town, Nuneaton Borough, Alloa Athletic and Hereford before signing for Lincoln City permanently in 2022.
The big stopper made 31 appearances for the Imps and becomes David Artell’s second recruit of the summer.
Speaking of his new goalkeeper, Head Coach David Artell said, “He’s an excellent shot-stopper and a commanding presence.”
“He’s got good experience at a level and now he needs to play regularly over an extended period of time, so he’s now got a different challenge ahead of him.
“Obviously, he’s got Jake (Eastwood) to compete with and we’re looking forward to working with him. He’s an excellent keeper and I think he will be a terrific acquisition for us.”
After completing his move to Blundell Park, Wright added, “I’m delighted to get it done now and get the season going.”
“I knew Steve (Croudson) from before, we had a few conversations and then it moved from there. I now can’t wait to get going and let’s hope for a big season!”
Welcome to the Mariners, Jordan!
