The Mariners travelled to Harrogate on Saturday morning for their U18’s league fixture.
In blustery conditions, both teams made a positive start. Harrogate fired a cross which had no one there to meet it and at the other end, Milner almost with a carbon copy of the host’s effort.
Harrogate opened the scoring after 15 minutes from close range, capitalising on a defensive error from the Mariners.
But Town responded well despite conceding, with striker Edwin Essel drawing a save from the keeper and Brown went close however, despite continuing to apply pressure, went in at the break behind.
In the second half, Town looked much more like themselves and started to control the game with some good passing football, eventually finding an equaliser after 55 mins when Sims slotted home from close range after Bramwell’s header rebounded off the bar.
Town capitalised and made it 2-1 very shortly after when Bramwell’s inch-perfect pass found Milner who beat his opponent and smashed home from inside the box on the 60-minute mark to give Town the lead for the first time.
Town went close through Essel and Tomlinson and it was Essel who added a third when he rounded the keeper on 70 minutes. Milner then rounded off the scoring with a similar finish to his earlier strike to make it 4-1 and seal the victory for Town.
