Programme On Sale for Tomorrow’s Local Derby Fixture

Grimsby Town’s matchday programme, The Mariner, will be on sale for tomorrow’s derby with Scunthorpe United at Blundell Park (kick-off 1pm).

The Mariner is packed-full with interviews, fan features and content to interest the whole family. Here are some of the highlights in tomorrow’s edition:

Luke Waterfall speaks to Media Officer Ryan Petterson about his time at Scunthorpe United, his love of derby games and the importance of a hostile environment at Blundell Park in the main interview. The defender is also the star of the pull-out centrefold.

Interim Manager Anthony Limbrick shares his thoughts on our point at Carlisle and understanding what playing Scunthorpe United means to Mariners fans.

Jim Barwick writes about his wintry trip to Carlisle last weekend by train in the ‘Away Days’ feature.

We’ve got four pages of ‘Mini Mariners’ content, including a Q&A with Matt Green, photographs from recent matchday activities and another classic Mariners Moment in Lego.

John Kirk tells the story of the time the Mariners put seven past the Iron in 1966.

Fans of the Future member Grant Maconachie explains how an early love of the game led to become a Mariner and later his son, Jack.

Rob McIlveen reports on three more games from 40 years ago in his series on the 1979-80 title-winning season.

There are updates from the Mariners Trust, Grimsby Town Sports & Education Trust, the Youth Team and another installment of Blundell Park history from Rob Briggs.

And we have the lowdown on our opponents, stats from past encounters between the two sides and Stuart Roy Clarke shares his favourite photo of the Iron from his Homes of Football collection.

The Mariner will be available around the ground priced at £3 – make sure you pick up your copy before you go through the turnstiles!
