The Mariners are delighted to announce the signing of experienced goalkeeper Christy Pym on a two-year deal.
The 30-year-old stopper makes the move to Blundell Park following a three-year spell with Mansfield Town, where he made a total of 138 appearances.
He joined the Stags on a season-long loan in the summer of 2022, before signing permanently on a two-year deal and helping them achieve League One status in 2024, keeping 14 clean sheets and playing a key role in the most resolute defence in the league.
The homegrown Exeter City youth keeper made his First Team debut for the Grecians at 19 and went on to make over 160 appearances across seven years.
Pym made the move to Peterborough United in May 2019 and made 94 appearances over a four-year spell, helping them earn promotion to the Championship in 2021.
During his time with the Posh, Pym joined Stevenage on a half-season loan in December 2021, where he was reunited with former Exeter City boss, Paul Tisdale.
Pym has also represented England on three occasions as an under-20 International.
On signing the shot-stopper, Head Coach David Artell said, “Christy is a vastly experienced goalkeeper. He’s a winner who knows how to get out of this league and we hope he’ll be a real pivotal signing for us.
“He’ll be really important and will massively help the backline; doing his job, while instructing others around him.”
Welcome to Grimsby, Christy!
