Club Statement – Tonight’s Game

Grimsby Town Football Club can confirm that tonight’s pre-season fixture with Lincoln City will go ahead as planned.

The safety and welfare of our players, staff and supporters will always be at the forefront of our minds, especially during adverse weather conditions. Over the last 24 hours, we have been in communication with the SAG (Safety Advisory Group) and Humberside Police and have taken the advice of Public Health England. We will continue to monitor the conditions ahead of tonight’s game.

To ensure that everyone at the game stays safe and hydrated, stewards will be distributing 4,000 free bottles of water to supporters upon entry. Both the Club and Lincoln City will be sharing these costs.

In addition, fans will also be able to bring their own pre-filled plastic bottles with them to the game, which we encourage people to recycle in the dedicated recycling points around the ground. Please note that reusable bottles are not allowed into Blundell Park. Also, if supporters feel the need to move to cooler parts of the ground during the game, we will be able to facilitate this where possible. We are expecting the first few rows in the Main Stand to be in direct sunlight during the first half and fans should bear this in mind.

Finally, it’s worth reminding people that refreshments will be available from the bars and food kiosks around the ground, as well as in the Family Fan Zone.

We can’t wait to welcome you all back to Blundell Park later!
