Neil Woods’s Grimsby Town youth team face Crewe Alexandra in the second round of the FA Youth Cup at Gresty Road on Wednesday (7pm).
The young Mariners progressed after beating Rugby Town 1-0 at Blundell Park in the first round, thanks to Luis Adlard’s extra-time goal.
Town are doing well in cup competitions this season, as they also sit second in Youth Alliance Cup group D.
And they will be hoping to kick on and reach the third round of the FA Youth Cup as they go up against the Railwaymen on Wednesday.
But Crewe will be a tough test for the Mariners, with the Railwaymen’s youth academy providing an abundance of excellent talent over the past few decades.
Crewe progressed to the second round of the competition after beating Macclesfield Town 3-2 at the Moss Rose in the first round.
Tickets are priced at £5 for adults and £2 for concessions at Gresty Road.
