Groves Forced To Drop Out Of Tower To Tower Ride

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Grimsby Town legend Paul Groves has been forced to drop out of this weekend’s Tower to Tower bike ride.

This year’s event will see Commercial Manager, David Smith and friends set off on their bikes from Blackpool Tower to cycle to the Grimsby Dock Tower.

With the aim of raising funds for the club’s Youth Development Association (YDA), Dave Smith and Dave Moore – will be joined once again by a team of supporters.

It follows the inaugural event last year which saw Dave Smith, Dave Moore and Paul Groves cycle from Wembley stadium to Blundell Park. But this time there is a difference – yet equally challenging – route in store.

Starting at 8am on Saturday, the riders will set off from Blackpool Tower, before returning the following day.

The fundraisers are expected to cycle into  Grimsby at 5pm, on Sunday, with supporters being encouraged to welcome the group back at the Mariners Trust bar, Blundell Park, shortly after.

You can support all our riders this year on their journey by making a donation; using this link. All contributions made will be donated directly to the Youth Development Association. You can also make your donations in the GTFC Club Shop by filling in our donation form.
