Grimsby Town Football Club is seeking an ambitious, passionate and knowledgeable Assistant Head Coach to join our Women’s Team ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Working alongside the Head Coach, the successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation, delivery and review of training sessions and matchdays, helping to drive the continued development of our Women’s Team both on and off the pitch.
With ambitious plans for the future of the women’s programme, this is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing project and help the Club continue its progression through the football pyramid.
The Role
The Assistant Head Coach will support the day-to-day running of the Women’s First Team, contributing to the planning and delivery of high-quality coaching sessions while helping to implement the Club’s playing philosophy, tactical framework and player development strategy.
The successful applicant will:
- Support the organisation and delivery of the Women’s First Team programme.
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality coaching sessions.
- Contribute to tactical planning, match preparation and performance analysis.
- Assist with the individual and collective development of players.
- Analyse performances both live and through video to identify areas for improvement.
- Help maintain high standards, behaviours and professionalism within the squad.
- Lead the team in the absence of the Head Coach when required.
- Commit to continued professional development through coaching qualifications and CPD opportunities.
About You
We’re looking for someone who shares our ambition to grow the Women’s Team and possesses the enthusiasm, professionalism and knowledge to help us achieve our goals.
Essential requirements include:
- A passion for the women’s game.
- UEFA C Licence.
- FA Introduction to Coaching Football qualification.
- FA Introduction to First Aid qualification.
- FA Safeguarding Certificate (or willingness to complete immediately).
- Previous coaching experience within the women’s game.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
A UEFA B Licence, experience driving a minibus and a commitment to ongoing professional development would be advantageous.
