Obikwu is a product of the Coventry City academy, and he signed his first professional contract with the Sky Blues in the summer. The young forward had a breakthrough season with their U21’s last season where he featured in most games and found the back of the net on many occasions.

Obikwu’s form earned him a place on Coventry’s pre-season tour of Portugal, and he got his first taste of first team action in their pre-season victory against Forest Green Rovers where he also found the back of the net. Since then, the promising frontman has been a regular in Mark Robins’ matchday squads.
