The 21-year-old midfielder began his career in the Manchester United Academy before joining Hull City at 16 years-old. After progressing through the ranks at the MKM Stadium, Wood made his senior debut for the Tigers in May 2021 and signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The following season, the Yorkshireman joined Scunthorpe United on loan and made 13 appearances for the Iron before to his parent club in January.

Wood featured regularly for Hull’s Under 23s last season and played in their final game of the campaign against Premier League bound Luton Town.

In the summer, he joined League of Ireland Premier Division side Shelbourne on a short-term loan and made 15 appearances, scoring twice, for the Dublin club and helped the Shels secure a place in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers.
