Colin Calderwood will be hoping Cambridge United can improve on last season’s performance in Sky Bet League Two 2019-20.
Avoided relegation in 2018-19
The U’s finished 21st-place last season, with a six-point gap between themselves and Notts County in the relegation zone.
They ended the campaign with a six-game winless run, and picked up just one victory from their last 11 league games.
And Calderwood will be looking to steer the U’s, who finished on 47 points last term, clear of any relegation worries in his first full season in 2019-20.

The ex-Tottenham Hotspur and Scotland defender took charge of the U’s in December, following Joe Dunne’s sacking as boss.
It was Calderwood’s first managerial job since he was Hibernian boss in 2011, despite being assistant manager at Norwich City, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Aston Villa.
He won seven of his 24 games in charge as Cambridge boss at the end of last season, and will be looking to keep the U’s improving this term.
Players
Calderwood released six players this summer, including goalkeeper David Forde, midfielder Emmanuel Osadebe, and left-back Jake Carroll.
Youngsters Lee Watkins, Matt Foy, and Sam Squire also left Abbey Stadium.
Experienced centre-forward Jabo Ibehre, who scored six goals last season, has triggered a one-year contract extension with the U’s.
Calderwood remains in discussions with George Maris, Gary Deegan, Brad Halliday, Leon Davies, Tom Knowles, and Finley Iron, who have all been offered contracts.
The U’s have already made three signings, with Luke Hannant, Kyle Knoyle, and Harvey Knibbs all making the move to Abbey Stadium.
