A man who has become a fans’ favourite during his time with the Mariners, Alex first joined the club on loan during the 2021-22 season.

Hunt is a product of the youth system at Sheffield Wednesday and experienced his first regular men’s football in the first half of that season with Town after signing in August.

His return to Hillsborough in January saw him sign a new contact with the recently-promoted Championship club before heading out on loan again, this time to Oldham Athletic.

He had done enough, however, to impress Paul Hurst and the coaching staff and, ahead of our return to the EFL the following summer, would sign a three-year deal with the Mariners after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee on deadline day.

His first campaign saw him feature twenty-five times in all competitions, scoring one goal.
