The Mariner makes a welcome return this weekend for the visit of Altrincham to Blundell Park for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday afternoon.
In this week’s edition, we sit down with one of our own Max Wright, as the winger continues his steady return to first-team action after a frustrating period of injuries. Max talks honestly about his season, his injury woes but also his determination to return stronger than ever.
Grimbarians’ ‘One of our Own’ feature returns, as Cod Almighty’s Tony Butcher features in this weekend’s edition, the online fanzine dedicated to the Mariners since 2002.
Our regular Junior Mariners feature also returns with plenty of activities and features for our younger Mariners fans. We also see the return of our quickfire question and answer feature with Shaun Pearson who is up against the clock. We also catch up with the Grimsby Town Sports & Education Trust Shadow Scholarship squad, who secured a late 1-0 victory at Newcastle United U19’s.
Mariners Legends return with fan favourite Clive Mendonca, as radio commentator and Town fan Scott Woodthorpe looks back at the time when Super Clive used to call Blundell Park home. Club historian Rob Briggs continues with part twelve of Ancient Mariners, as he focuses on the early part of the 1884-85 season.
