Grimsby travelled to local rivals Lincoln on Saturday morning, for what was a great game between two good sides.
Grimsby took the lead early on when Dennis was brought down by the keeper which Milner dispatched to out Town 1-0 up and in no time at all it was 2 when Town pressed well and Hodgson curled it beautifully into the top corner from outside the box.
Lincoln we’re back in the game immediately though when a deflection ended up in the back of Town’s net.
Town restored their two-goal advantage to make it 3-1 though when Braithwaite slotted home from the edge of the box.
In an end-to-end game, Lincoln pulled one back right on the break with a close-range finish. 3-2!
Town came out quick – Essel was brought down in the box, stepped up and scored the penalty he won. 4-2.
The game then opened up Lincoln scored 3 in 15 minutes capitalising on some individual errors. Giving them a 5-4 lead with 5 minutes left.
Boyd was then brought down in the box for Town – Brown stepped up 5-5!
Last kick of the game Lincoln failed to clear a corner it fell to Body who smashed home to send Town wild! 6-5 win!
