Back In Town: Introducing Our 2026/27 Home Shirt

We’re excited to announce that our 2026/27 Home Shirt will go on sale in-store from 10am on Friday 3rd July and online from Monday.

Inspired by one of the most recognisable shirts in Grimsby Town history, the design pays homage to the kit worn by the Mariners between 1996 and 1998, reimagined for a new generation of supporters.

It’s a shirt that evokes memories of a generation of Mariners. Of McDermott, Childs, Livingstone, Groves, Handyside and many others.

Almost thirty years after LOTTO last supplied Grimsby Town Football Club, we’re delighted to have them ‘Back in Town’ as our official kit supplier through Kitlocker.

A love letter to a classic

The new home shirt takes inspiration from one of the most iconic designs in the Club’s modern history.

The familiar black and white stripes alongside subtle nods to the original 90s shirt. Red piping around the Club crest and beneath the Blackrow logo references the famous Food Town-sponsored strip worn by the Mariners.

Additional details include a trawler motif on the back of the neck, inspired by a historic version of the Club crest, while Winner Winner Chicken Dinner features beneath the squad numbers and 3Q’s anniversary logo adds a splash of red to the sleeve.

The result is a timeless Grimsby Town shirt that feels instantly familiar.

A long-sleeve version of the shirt will also be available and a limited number will go on sale from Club Shop on Friday and online Monday.

More than a shirt

To mark the launch, we created a campaign film that celebrates something far bigger than football.

Shot entirely in black and white and set to a special rendition of We Only Sing When We’re Fishing by The Giant Killers, the film is a tribute to the people, places and stories that make Grimsby what it is.

Featuring familiar faces from across the community, local landmarks and Mariners legends John McDermott and Gary Childs, the film reflects a club deeply connected to its town.

McDermott, our all-time appearance record holder, spent 20 years representing the Mariners, while Childs remains one of the most exciting and popular wingers ever to wear black and white.

Together, they help tell a story that spans generations.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who contributed to the project.

New e-commerce website

We are excited to announce that we’ll be launching a new improved ecommerce platform on Monday.

The website, built by local brand, web and marketing agency, Sourcefour, will be the place where Mariners, from all over the world, will be able to get their hands on our new LOTTO kits and lifestyle collections, replacing Mariners Direct.

Season Ticket holders who would like to buy a shirt online and use their £10 discount will be emailed with instructions of how to do this on Monday.

We also recommend supporters, who aren’t season ticket holders, create an account when buying online via the new platform on Monday because it will make future online purchases faster and we can send special offers and discounts throughout the season.

Jack Johnson, Head of Marketing & Communications at Grimsby Town Football Club, said:

“This shirt is a celebration of Grimsby Town – our history, our identity and the people who make this football club so special.”

“The inspiration behind the design will be instantly recognisable to so many supporters. It takes elements from the original and reimagines them for a new generation, creating a shirt that feels both nostalgic and modern.”

“What makes this launch particularly special is the campaign that accompanies it. From the people who feature in the film to the locations and stories it showcases, it is a genuine reflection of our town and our supporters.

“I’d like to thank Luke Matthews, James Willis and Ben Rising for their work and support on the new shirt, retail collections, branding and campaign.”

“We’ve had a fantastic response since announcing our partnership with LOTTO and we’re incredibly proud of what has been created together. We can’t wait to see supporters wearing the shirt when it goes on sale from Friday 3rd July and, hopefully, creating a few more memories in black and white stripes over the season ahead.”
