Grimsby Town Football Club is delighted to announce that Cameron Gardner has signed a new deal, keeping him with the Mariners until the summer of 2028.
The 19-year-old forward joined the Mariners as a scholar ahead of the 2022-23 season from Gateshead.
Gardner signed his professional contract on his 18th birthday in September last year and has since gone on to make 19 first team appearances across all competitions.
Gardner made his League Two debut in the last game of the previous campaign away at Crawley Town and opened his account in black and white away at Chesterfield in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy earlier this month.
After putting pen to paper on a new deal, The Town forward said, “I’m delighted to sign the deal and really happy to spend more time at the club. It’s definitely the most I’ve ever enjoyed my football and I’m loving learning and developing under the gaffer (David Artell) and learning from the senior players in the team”.
Head Coach, David Artell added, “We are delighted to tie up Cam to a new deal and he’s fully deserved it. What he has achieved as a first-year professional has been excellent – to play the amount of games that he’s played is a real credit to himself and all his hard work. Cam’s a breath of fresh air into the squad and a player that can score goals and I’m sure there’s more to come”.
The Town number 22 will be in David Artell’s squad for the visit of Accrington Stanley to Blundell Park on Tuesday night.
Congratulations, Cam!
